Quick answer: For mild arthritis pain or swelling, a compression sleeve (from Rs 350) is usually enough. For pain around the kneecap, choose an open-patella brace. If the knee feels loose or gives way after a ligament injury, you need a brace with side stays or hinges. After surgery or a serious injury, your doctor may prescribe a knee immobilizer to keep the leg straight.
